Are you ready to go back to full speed after Eid ?

Eid Mubarak !

Summer months and Ramadan usually sport a slower rhythm and Eid signals a return to the familiar busyness of our professional lives.

I’d like to share with you my resolution for a successful transition back into full speed mode in Compensation & Benefits :

1 – Gear up for the return : use the last few quiet(er) days to clear up my office cupboards and set up processes to simplify and organise my working environment, such as reviewing the rules I set up in Outlook to see if they are still valid and useful. I don’t know much about feng shui, but I know that when my space is clear, so is my head.

2 – Prepare for year-end : this one is easy. I did perform mid-year reviews for my team members, and have evaluated with them where we stand with respect to the objectives we set for the team. So we have a good understanding of our priorities for the final months of the year – and are ready for the unexpected to arise as well…. it always does !

3 – Remember my clients : with corporate roles, it is easy for us to sometimes lose sight of the fact that our customers are not only the company and senior leadership, but also the employees of the organisation. Reminding myself of seeing things from both the company and employee side helps spark creativity and bring solutions that are truly valued by all stakeholders so that we reach the best possible results.

Being organised, with renewed goal clarity and focus on all stakeholders, will allow my team and I to approach the escalating speed and pressure of the final months in an organised and  sensible manner. Which tips do you use for preparing for the end of the year ? Please share them in the comments section !
