A few months ago I was invited to submit a chapter for the sequel to an HR best-selling “book of blogs”.
David D’Souza curated the first book in the series, and did an awesome job for this sequel despite some difficult personal circumstances. Kudos to him for such a good follow-up !
I donated an article from this blog called “The Formula One effect on performance management”, which is now chapter 39 in the book.
The opus is titled “This time, it’s personnel : Humane, Resourced 2”.
I’m very excited and honored to announce that when the book was launched yesterday, it went straight to number 1 in Human Resources both for the Kindle and physical books on Amazon in the UK, as well as number 3 in the Finance section !
As I’m writing, the book is also ranked number 9 in HR in the US so this is really becoming an international best seller :-).
Topics are very wide and cover everything from engagement, values and motivation to the future of HR, via Data, international HR, L&D, recruitment, reward, personal growth and development and strategic awareness, all the way to personal reflections, and even poetry, humor and satirical views of the world of HR.
I have started to read it and some of the contributions are truly interesting. Furthermore, Lynda Gratton agreed to do the foreword and Chester Elton – who has sold over a million books – has also written a chapter.
So I would like to encourage you to read it, and also to spread the word with your HR friends by sharing this post on LinkedIn or Twitter.
You can read it on your Kindle tablet, or on any smartphone, tablet or computer using the free Kindle Reader app here.
This time, it’s personnel costs only 2.56 GBP (15 AED) or 3.99 USD and all proceeds from the book go to charities.
And that’s how when you buy it, you’ll be expanding both your knowledge and your karma !
